The pairs had a great competition. :)

I've been enjoying Petranovic/Souza-Kordeiru's Greatest Showman SP all season and I was so glad to see them get high GOE on their twist (it's good!) and the crowd getting into the music and cheering them on! Too bad about the throw flip, but good on them for trying a difficult element since they have nothing to lose. They have a lot of personality and I hope they can improve technically over the years!

I got so worried about Ziegler/Kiefer. :( Not because they made mistakes (not too unusual) but she was sobbing after the performance... and as I suspected, it was because of their coach who passed away recently. Ugh, my heart. Their programs this season seemed bland at first compared to last season's charming "500 Miles" SP, but they've really grown on me and I think only gotten more and more emotional depth with each performance, so I hope they do well at the FS. They do great lifts and need more recognition for that!

Boikova/Kozlovskii ♥ Charming and expressive while still maintaining sharp technique, which is pretty much my dream pairs quality. Not much to say, can't wait to see where they go.

J/C vs. T/M: I dunno if it's confidence or better SS or better stamina, but J/C seemed to be more light on the ice and less labored this competition, and their 1st place was well-deserved. I'm curious if they can maintain this quality in the FS. T/M going back to their old SP and honestly their whole team's FACES during warmup and in the k&c shows they take this competition super seriously, AS THEY SHOULD since they've been dethroned as the "it" pair in the minds of the judges and done nothing this season to dispel that. Personally I don't like J/C's style and find T/M to be black holes of charisma, so I'm rooting for the Chinese.
