Oh gosh, I love so much about skating! I love the artistry and dance aspects, the costumes, the amazing feats of athleticism, but mostly I love the skaters. When I followed it as a kid I didnt pay much attention to the skaters themselves, but now I have social media and can follow them, I love them a much as the sport itself! They’re all precious amazing dorks! 💚

Saaame. I'm not usually a sports person, but I think the combination of costumes and dance plus athleticism makes it easy to get attached to skaters whose style works for me, even if they're not at the top of the standings. (One of my favorites doesn't even have international assignments this year. Hope he does well at Nationals.) With a few exceptions, they tend to come off as nice, very hard-working young people, and it's nice to see them being cute and supportive of other skaters on social media.

I tend to cheer the hardest for singles skaters, but technically, pairs is my favorite discipline. :) So much fun variation in the elements and so very, very difficult to pull off.

Hi everyone!

I follow singles for the most part, but I enjoy watching and learning more about pairs and ice dance. I don't skate myself, and what got me into skating was seeing some really cool programs on youtube right before the 2014 Olympics. Then watching the skaters there really pulled me in completely.

My favorite skater is Shoma Uno, and this is my favorite program of his (and one of my favorites in general.) I haven't really been part of any figure skating communities, so I've just been excitedly yelling about it to friends and on twitter. I was happy to find this place!

Hello everyone! :) I'm also a longtime Tumblr user, but I finally joined Dreamwidth and here I am! Glad to have found this community. I know most of the fs community seems to use Twitter, but I tried it and really dislike the format, this feels much more comfortable.

I've always liked skating but only started really getting into it a few years ago when I saw Rika Hongo's Riverdance program (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M2rCKxE6Vek), and then found some Yuna programs on youtube, and now here I am... I mostly follow singles and dance (sorry pairs...) but I watch almost everything. My absolute favorite now is Yuzuru, but I also love Denniss and many others, and in the Ladies' Satoko and the other Japanese girls, needless to say I'm extremely excited for Japanese nationals! My favorite ice dancers (Anna and Luca) retired this year so I'm left without a strong favorite, so I just cheer for everyone :)
